'N Sync may be reuniting for their first televised performance together in ten years at this Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV source confirms.

Justin Timberlake — after accepting this year’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award — will be joined onstage Aug. 25 at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center with former boy bandmates JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick for a short set.

The MTV source says that producers are “trying to make it happen,” and that the much-hoped-for reunion is “coming together.” The hugely successful group last performed together back in 2004, singing the “Star Spangled Banner” at the Annual Challenge for Children; their last televised performance was at the 2003 Grammy Awards during a tribute to the Bee Gees.
