The mother of pop singer Bruno Mars has passed away. 

A rep confirmed on Sunday that Mars’ mother, Bernadette Hernandez, died of a brain aneurysm in a hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday.  She was 55 years old. 

The Grammy winner, born Peter Gene Hernandez, is scheduled to kick off a world tour later this month in support of his chart-topping sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox.  The 27-year-old singer also has four sisters - Jaime, Tiara, Tahiti and Presley - who are a musical group as well, going by the name Lylas.  Earlier this month, the sisters had signed a deal to move forward with a reality series on the network WE tv.
