Ed Sheeran has signed on for a small role on the upcoming season of “The Voice.” 

NBC announced on Tuesday that returning coach Christina Aguilera has recruited the British singer-songwriter to be the musical advisor for her team. 

Sheeran has been joining country star Taylor Swift as an opening act on her “Red” tour, which will come to an end in North America in mid-September. 

The new season of “The Voice” premieres on September 23rd.  Ed won’t appear on the show until the Battle Rounds, however. 

Looks like Christina called in the A-Team!
