John Mayer says he’ll have something new to go along with his upcoming summer tour.  The singer-songwriter recently posted a message on his Tumblr page letting fans know that a follow-up to last year’s Born and Raised is in the works. 

And Mayer won’t simply be tacking a few new songs on to his previous album, assuring everyone that the new release won’t be a “Born and Raised plus.”  He explains that the next batch of songs will “bring the whole thing up to date with Summer 2013.” 

Mayer is scheduled to kick off his summer outing with an appearance at Wisconsin’s Summerfest on July 6th.
