Randy Jackson is making news for the second time this week after he was dropped as Mariah Carey’s manager.

Now he is leaving “American Idol.”  Jackson, who has served as judge on the Fox singing competition since the show’s first season announced Thursday he won’t be back for a 13th season.

Lindsay Lohan is securely tucked away in rehab at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California, and it doesn’t sound like she’ll be leaving anytime soon.

Accused Colorado theater shooter James Holmes will plead not guilty by reason of insanity.  He’s charged with killing a dozen people and wounding dozens more during a midnight showing of the latest Batman film last summer. 

A Denver-area judge entered his not guilty plea on his behalf in March just weeks ahead of a report which said his attorneys would agree to a guilty plea to avoid the death penalty.  Prosecutors declined to pursue the offer. 

John Mayer says he’ll have something new to go along with his upcoming summer tour.  The singer-songwriter recently posted a message on his Tumblr page letting fans know that a follow-up to last year’s Born and Raised is in the works.
