One of Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriends is speaking up in her defense. 

The Jonas Brothers’ Joe Jonas has taken to Twitter to go after Lorde, the 16-year-old New Zealand singer whose hit “Royals” is currently at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. 

Joe seems to be upset over the comments Lorde recently made about Taylor in which she reportedly called the star’s appearance “unattainable” and said that looking up to her isn’t “breeding anything good in young girls.” The young star also supposedly critized Taylor’s friend Selena Gomez. 

Lorde later explained on Tumblr that her words were taken out of context and that she actually admires Taylor as an artist.
