OneRepublic‘s latest album Native drops today, after months of being pushed, and frontman Ryan Tedder‘s revealed what was one element behind the delay.

And, it sounds like, we can partially blame Swedish House Mafia!

Ryan shares, after seeing the Swedes perform at Coachella, he was inspired.

Sharing, the first single off the album”If I Lose Myself” was directly inspired by SHM as is the general tempo of the album.

So should we expect a full on EDM album? Not so fast.

Ryan says their goal was to capture the energy of dance music, but to still sound organic as he feels a band should.
